USC vs Northwestern

Box Score

I'm a fan of Jeremy Martinez. He's a Freshman for USC. Went to Mater Dei High School, so I've been following his career a bit.

This was the third game of the year for USC. The day was nice and thought it would be a good time to take my son.

Andrew ran towards this ball. Looks like he remembers the day we went last year. {linked here}

USC unveiled a full-sized statue of legendary coach Rod Dedeaux. Several ex-MLB players were in hand.

Do you see Randy Johnson?

Here's Randy Johnson -

I have a short story on Johnson. I met him about maybe 10 years ago at a charity event. It was a paid signing. All money was going towards the family of a Sports Illustrated photographer that passed away. My brother comes up to him and extends his hand. Johnson refuses to shake his hand. I was shocked. If I didn't see it myself, I wouldn't believe it. And this was a charity event! You would think Johnson would understand the situation.

I didn't try to get his autograph today. I got him on that charity event. And since I had my son with me, I didn't want to go through the trouble. I did get autographs from Ron Fairly and Tommy Lasorda.

My buddy Steve recorded this.

Lasorda was crying. He was very close with Dedeaux.

Front row seats for $7? Yes!

Another look at the statue. Very nice.

It was a good day. My son had fun and it was nice seeing the usual autograph seekers. It's been a while.

Thanks for reading.
