OMG! It's Ted Sizemore!

Ted Sizemore

You're probably laughing at my post title and I don't care. You can't imagine how long I've been trying to meet the 1969 N.L. Rookie of the Year with the Dodgers, Ted Sizemore. And I met him by accident!

I've asked promoters to bring in Sizemore for future shows and no luck. One promoter said "I don't know who Ted Sizemore is".

Sizemore was at a baseball luncheon last Tuesday. I decided to go since I haven't really done any baseball related events recently because of my health.

Me and a friend were at a table waiting for the event to start and we see Sizemore checking in. We weren't sure if it was him. Checked Google to see his height, which is 5'10. And has curly hair. A man passes by us that has curly hair and looks about 5'10 and my friend says "Hey Ted?". Sizemore turns around and says "Yeah!". We get all excited.

I have a binder with old baseball cards of past Dodgers in the car just in case I meet someone. I take out my Sizemore cards and a baseball. He signs everything that I had. He was very friendly and laughed out loud when I said "I've been trying to track you down".

It seems that Sizemore is enjoying retirement and playing golf in the Palm Springs area and stays away from autograph shows.

Thanks Ted!

It was a good day....

He's a tough signer - I've sent him two things in the mail and not gotten either back. Nice one Roberto!
