Fresh start community festival to be held at Dodger Stadium this Saturday

This is really great for the community and especially to those families that are having a difficult time financially.

From the Dodgers -

Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation are joining SEIU United Long Term Care Workers (ULTCW) in sponsoring this year’s Fresh Start Community Festival at Dodger Stadium, where more than 20,000 students and families are expected to attend. SEIU United Long Term Care Workers (ULTCW) created the Fresh Start Community Festival four years ago as a way to help local families and individuals hit hardest by the economic downturn get their kids prepared for the new school year.

“The Los Angeles Dodgers are proud to be part of the 'Fresh Start Community Festival' and in providing our schoolchildren the supplies and the encouragement they need to succeed in school,” said Stan Kasten, President and CEO, Los Angeles Dodgers.

The festival will feature free entertainment, health screenings and lunch for the entire family. The first 10,000 students (ages 5-15 years) will receive back-to-school backpacks, provided by the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation and Honda, as well as school supplies. There will also be free haircuts for boys and manicures for girls along with a kid’s space filled with arts and crafts and entertainment provided by SEIU.

The free community festival is made possible through the generous support of SEIU ULTCW, the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation and Honda along with Levy Cares.
