Time Warner Cable & Magic Johnson Scholarship Announcement

On behalf of Time Warner Cable and ASPiRE, the new network from Magic Johnson Enterprises, Dodgers’ Owner Magic Johnson will be on hand during Jackie Robinson Day at Dodger Stadium to announce a college scholarship to one lucky member from Dorsey and Crenshaw High School baseball teams. The winner will receive the scholarship through an application process overseen by the Magic Johnson Foundation. Time Warner Cable and ASPiRE gave their support to the teams both on and off the field by supplying the scholarship, along with Dick’s Sporting Goods gift cards for their uniforms.

Hirsch, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing and Sales Officer, Residential Services of Time Warner Cable. “We’re delighted to partner with the Foundation and be able to offer the perfect platform to connect aspiring students to their dreams.”
In addition to the scholarship announcement, Time Warner Cable also hosted advance customer screenings of Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures’ 42 in Los Angeles, New York City and Kansas City as part of the sponsorship with Warner Bros. Dorsey and Crenshaw High School baseball teams had the opportunity to attend the advance screening in Los Angeles, which featured Dodgers World Series winner “Sweet” Lou Johnson and Jackie Robinson’s granddaughter, Sonya Pankey, as special guests. Time Warner Cable gave away a family four pack of tickets to Jackie Robinson Day at Dodger Stadium and an ASPIRE provided a branded iPad and signed Magic Johnson journal.
