I was expecting a low turnout. Boy, I was wrong. Luis 'El Cochito' Cruz was scheduled to sign autographs at Staples in Huntington Park last Friday at 12 p.m.
I showed up at 10:40 a.m. I couldn't come earlier since I was bringing my baby and didn't want him to get bored. All he wants to do now is run.
This is the front. I was in the back of the store!

The hour plus wait went by quick since many fans recognized me and we talked. I can't forget Willy, the greatest Dodger fan of all time.
Inside Staples....
My son was getting a little crazy at the end. He wanted to get out. I haven't really taken him to any events like this before. He's not used to it.

Luis Cruz was awesome. Took pictures with the fans and would say a few words to them.

My goal was to get two items signed. A 2006 World Baseball Classic 'Mexico' jersey and a rookie card. A few members of that team have already signed it.
The following players have signed it.
Fernando Valenzuela (He was a coach)
Adrian Gonzalez (Got it when he was with the Padres)
Oliver Perez (Got it during the WBC @ Angels Stadium)
Benji Gill (Got it during the WBC @ Angels Stadium)
Juan Castro (Got it while he was with the Dodgers)
Yeah, my son can care less about this. :)

Thank you Luis and Staples!

Your Mexico jersey looks great.
I never would have expected a large turnout. He's a nice guy and its nice to see the success.
Nice pic i have the same jersey and wanted to start getting it signed by mexican players too. U should have Jerry harriston sign it. He played in the 2009 team with his brother
Now I see what Cruuuuuz rookie card I need to pick up. Great recap and good to see Cruuuz getting some good fan support.
