Mother's Day at Dodger Stadium

From the Dodgers -
Sunday is Mother’s Day at Dodger Stadium (1:10 p.m. vs. COL). Fans with the first 20,000 valid tickets entering the turnstiles will receive a Mother’s Day Tote presented by Murad. Following the game, Mother’s Day Walk in the Park will take place. Mothers will also be chosen from fans at Dodger Stadium Sunday to take the field before the game.

As part of pregame ceremonies on Mother’s Day, Dodger players’ moms will throw out a ceremonial first pitch to their sons. Wives of Dodger players who are also mothers have also been invited to partake in pregame ceremonies.

Jerri Johnson, a 10-year breast cancer survivor and chairperson of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure event will throw out a first pitch and winners of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure recently held at Dodger Stadium will be recognized on the field. Komen volunteers will also create a pink ribbon in the outfield with pink umbrellas. The Dodgers’ winner of the MLB Honorary Bat Girl contest, Lisa Nevolo-Lewis of Los Angeles, a 4-year breast cancer survivor, will start the game by announcing “It’s time for Dodger baseball!.”

Also, in support of Major League Baseball’s objective to raise awareness for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation, umpires, Dodger coaches and players will wear pink wristbands and apply pink ribbon decals to their uniform. In addition, players can opt to use Louisville Slugger pink bats and other pink equipment.

Mother’s Day at Dodger Stadium begins at Viva Los Dodgers Day, presented by State Farm, Chevrolet and Time Warner Cable. The family-friendly festival that starts at 11 a.m. features a live performance by Guadalajara-based cumbiatrónica duo Los Master Plus and comedy with Julio Gonzalez. KCRW DJ Raul Campos will emcee.

Dodger alumnus Bill Russell will sign autographs for fans. Also on site at Viva Los Dodgers Day will be KTNQ 1020 AM, KOST 103.5 FM, Dodgers Radio AM570 Fox Sports and ESPN Deportes Los Angeles. All Dodger fans are welcome and the event is free with a ticket for the day’s game.

This whole thing is pretty awesome. But ever since the Susan G. Komen foundation supported taking funds from Planned Parenthood I haven't looked at their "Pink Ribbons" the same :(
I'm still down for that bag of goodies though! GO DODGERS!

They didn't even pass out 20,000 bags. Almost no one received them and I got there when the gates opened. This was a disaster and I'm going to boycott dodgers games after ruining Mother's Day for my mom and grandmas. I go to at least 25-30 games a year and so does my family. You can bet were not going to go more. There seats are going to be even more empty now!!!!!!

i'm also disappointed with the way the SGA was handled. i didn't get a bag either and got there fairly early. my husband spoke to one of the employees and was told that the bags were gone in 20 minutes... so they gave away ~1,000 per minute??

my husband (who isn't even really a baseball fan) bought tickets for us and our kids as a mother's day gift to me, particularly because he knew i wanted the bag. (he said he's going to get me one off ebay because he didn't want my experience to be ruined... i'm grateful, but it's a shame he has to do that.)
