Recap: Sunday @ Camelback Ranch

I went on a two day trip to Arizona last weekend. This post is about Sunday. Click here to read about Saturday.

Arrived at 9am when the gates were going to open at Camelback Ranch.

Video of the entrance -

Fans hanging around trying to get autographs.

Video - Fans at Camelback Ranch.

Had to take one more shot of the beautiful lake.

Players coming out to the practice fields....

Ken Gurnick of

L.A. Times reporter Bill Shaikin receiving a text message from Frank McCourt.

One of these girls said they read my blog and asked me to take a picture. Sorry that I didn't catch your name. By the way, it was nice meeting several fans. It's always nice for readers to come up and say hi.

My son doesn't care about meeting players or watching them practice. He just wants to play in the grass.

I asked Rick Honeycutt where he was going. He said "Bullpen session with Mr. Cy Young".

He wasn't lying. Video -

Can you see Kershaw's fastball?

Andre Ethier was quiet with his teammates. This was my observation. While Matt Kemp is all smiles and having fun, Ethier had more of a business-like attitude.

Video - Ethier.

Ethier didn't sign autographs on Saturday like I mentioned yesterday. But he did sign on this day.

I think Mark Ellis has the ugliest signature.

Manny Mota!

Josh Wall was surprised I had a card of him.

Josh Lindblom is always signing.

I love anything that has to do with the Montreal Expos. The logo is so cool in my opinion. Tim Wallach was nice enough to sign these two cards.

Davey Lopes, Matt Kemp and James Loney -

Getting crowded -

Jerry Hairston Jr. - My mom and Jerry's mom were born in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. I told him this and he gave me a thumbs up.

Practices were ending and only two men stayed to do some more work. That was Davey Lopes and Dee Gordon. Hitting? Nop. Lopes was teaching Gordon the right way to get a lead while on base. They worked on this for a good 20 minutes. Afterwards, both were in a good mood and signed.

Clayton Kershaw did the same thing like Saturday. Only signed for kids.

It was near game time and Tommy Lasorda came out to meet the fans and sign autographs. He always does this in Camelback Ranch. He will usually do this for about 30 minutes or longer. Depends on his mood. I know I'm always criticizing Lasorda for his bad attitude but I do give him credit. He doesn't have to do this. But he does anyways.

Wait! Lasorda wears Vans shoes? I think I like him more.

Uncle Erik and my son meeting Lasorda -

I honestly don't think I want to have more kids. I just know the second one will be the opposite to my son. He's so calm. You should have seen all these babies inside the stadium crying.

Face paint!

We had tickets in the third base side. But we decided to sit in the lawn. It was a good idea since we were tired and here we can just enjoy the game in the grass and take a nap.

Short video of our view -

I had a good time at the game. We did leave early though since I have a cousin that lives there and I wanted to make a visit. Inside at the stadium I did see many Dodgers signing autographs before the first pitch. I didn't even try.

Try to make it to Camelback Ranch if you've never been here. It's always a good time and everyone is in a good mood. I highly recommend it.

I'd like to thank my wife, brother in law, mother in law and my son for going along with me. Good times!

Also, a shout out to 5 & Diner in Phoenix and Casanova Brothers Pizza in Gilbert! Great places to eat!

Wow! You got Ethier's autograph?!?! We were trying to get his both days and no luck. Sunday was much more crowded compared to Satuday. One of the parking lot guys told me the cubs spring training game is the biggest game of the year.
Anyways, thanks for all the photos!
