Fan Pix: Matt Kemp Art Piece

I received the following e-mail about ten days ago. I'm just catching up....

E-mail from Guy -

Hello Roberto,

I wanted to share with you a custom Matt Kemp art piece that a friend of mine drew for me recently. For the past few months I had thought how great it would be to have someone draw a sketch of Matt Kemp for me so I could frame it on my wall alongside my other Dodgers items.

For as long as I can recall, I have always been a fan of baseball artwork. I love the way the old Donruss Diamond Kings looked, as well as the more recent Alan & Ginter cards. So I asked an artist friend of mine to create a custom Kemp sketch for me. At first it was supposed to be of Kemp swinging the bat. As the sketch progressed, I then decided to see if he could make a collage piece. He ended up using photos that I sent him that I had found online.

The entire piece was all done in colored art pencils. It took him a total of around 7 days to complete. I loved how the piece turned out, and I just got it back from the framers last night. It reads - Matt Kemp - 2011 Baseball America Major League player of the year - 2011 Hank Aaron award- 2011 Gold Glove

Have a good one, thanks again for the spring training updates!

Thanks Guy for the e-mail. That art piece looks outstanding. You should try to get it signed by Matt Kemp. Oh, and your friend should have signed this to at the bottom. Isn't that what most artists do? :)

That's pretty cool I have Dwight Gooden and Wade Boggs drawns in similar fashion. Both are signed by the artist and the player.
