Took the baby to "Dodger Day" @ L.A. Fair!

Dodger Day at the L.A. Fair!

My baby woke up active. Jumping up and down wanting to get out of the house!

You believe me, right? So why not take him to the L.A. Fair for an hour or two? I started getting ready at 8:30 a.m. and left the house at 10:45. It takes a while to get ready when you have a baby. It's not the same anymore where I just take a shower, grab my wallet, get the car keys and leave!

I didn't plan on going. I don't need any of those 4 Dodgers that were scheduled to sign. I decided to go because I had a really nice picture of Davey Lopes. Plus he was going to be the first one to sign and I only live about 15 minutes away from the fair.

My baby is ready!

He turned 3 months last Tuesday.

Arrived at the fair at 11:10 a.m.

I did get nervous while looking at all those cars in front me. It looks like I got there a little bit late. I called earlier and they told me the gates open at 12 p.m. but the parking lot opens at 11 a.m.

Arrived to the parking attendant. He didn't know it was Dodger Day!

In the parking lot. Almost 12 p.m.

A Dodger fan recognized me. Thanks Ernie for the coupon! It saved me some money. Like I said, I didn't plan on going today.

Baby is doing well. I'll be honest with you. (I'm always honest though) I wouldn't have gone to the fair if he's a pain in the butt. Especially since I'm going by myself. But he's not a pain the butt. There are only 3 reasons why he will cry. 1. He's hungry. 2. He's sleepy so you have to put him to sleep. 3. You cannot ignore him. He hates being by himself. If I'm in the computer and he's next to me, he will get mad. He makes all these noises and basically telling me "Stop blogging and play with me!" :)

He's a good baby.

This is when I was having a mini nervous breakdown. It was getting close to 12:30 p.m. That's when Lopes was scheduled to sign. Baby was getting hungry since he last ate at 9 a.m.

I was just hoping that Lopes comes late. But I came prepared.

Luckily, Lopes came in at 12:41 and the baby was almost done.

It was a $2 minimum donation to Think Cure! in order for you obtain a autograph. I gave $5 bucks.

Sorry, no video. It's just hard while I'm moving the stroller and holding a picture. I did tell Lopes that I appreciated all his hard work he has done for the Dodgers. He thanked me and sign this beauty.

Left that area and went to the railroad garden. I thought my baby would like to see the trains.

Unfortunately, he was already sleeping.

I woke him up...

It was a good time! Thanks to Ernie, Armando and Clint for all the help.

Oh, and good luck to those that are still in the fair.

Hey Roberto. I am planning on taking my 10 week old Daughter to the Dodger Game on Tuesday Vs. the Giants and Kershaw's 20th Win. do you have any advice to make my night easier with her. Of course mom is coming too which I wouldn't do with out her at this time. I just want the family to be able to enjoy the night with as less stress as possible. Have you taken your little one yet?

Hi Erik,

I haven't taken my son to Dodger Stadium. So I have no advice. I do plan on taking him before the season ends. He needs to see Dodger Stadium before the year ends.

Wish I can help. I'm sure you will do fine since mom is also going.

Good luck Erik! :)

Roberto How long was line for Lopes? I was going to go but had to work. I wanted to get the Unocal portrait from 1984 singed that has garvey, lopes, russell and cey. I wonder how the line was for the players that arrived after lopes.

It was getting big. And I'm sure it will get more crowded!

Schedule -

o Davey Lopes – 12:30 PM – 2 PM
o Ron Cey – 2:30 PM – 4 PM
o Bill Russell – 4:30 PM – 6 PM
o Steve Garvey – 6:30 PM – 8 PM

It's already 4 so that means Russell and Garvey is next.

Great pics Roberto.Your son is so cute!

Lopes looked so laid back today. How was the crowd? Was it busy?

Roberto!! In one of your pictures it looks their were cases of Don Mattingly Bobblhead's in the backgroud!!! Were they giving them away at the fair?

Roberto Baly said...

@ dodgerbobble - Thanks. The crowd was getting big when I left. Like I said, I didn't stay after Lopes so I'm sure it got really packed afterwards!

Roberto Baly said...

@ BRinLA - Yeah I believe so. They were given out to those that had a special Dodgers coupon. I had that coupon and totally forgot to redeem it. Oh well...

I showed up at 3:30 and saw the line, and said nevermind lol. I did get a free Don Mattingly bobblehead and 2 tix for this sundays game for free. Also got a free cooler for spinning some wheel and hitting a triple.
