Kershaw looking for win #18!

Clayton Kershaw hits the mound today.

From the Dodgers Press Notes -

Dodger starter Clayton Kershaw has been putting together quite a Cy Young Award resume since the All-Star break. Kershaw is 8-1 and leads all Major League starters with a 1.32 ERA (10 ER/68.0 IP) since the Midsummer Classic. The left-hander won the NL Pitcher of the Month honors for July after going 4-1 with a 2.02 ERA (8 ER/35.2 IP) and NL-best 45 strikeouts over five starts. He then followed that up with an even better August, going 5-1 with a 1.55 ERA (8 er/46.1) and a .206 opponents' average over six starts last month. In his career, Kershaw is 5-3 with a 2.77 ERA (23 ER/74.2 IP) in 14 games (12 starts) during the month of September.

Kershaw, who will be making his first career start at Turner Field, enters today's outing ranked among the NL leaders in wins (17, 2nd), ERA (2.45, 2nd), strikeouts (212, 1st), innings (198.2, 1st), complete games (5, T-2nd) and shutouts (2, T-2nd).

Kershaw is attempting to become the first Dodger to win 18 games since Chan Ho Park did so on September 29, 2000, his last start of the season. The last Dodger to win 19 games was Ramon Martinez, who won 20 in 1990
