DODGER WIVES DONATE CLOSE TO $10,000 WORTH OF ITEMS TO LOCAL SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCY
Several wives visited St. Anne’s in Silverlake this morning to donate household goods and baby products.
LOS ANGELES – This morning, several Dodger Wives visited St. Anne’s, a social service agency in Silverlake that works with at-risk young women, children and families, to donate close to $10,000 in household goods and baby products. Maggie Ethier, Tiffany Billingsley, Cindy Ellis, Aurielle Lindblom and Ellen Kershaw made the donation on behalf of all of this year’s Dodger Wives, as they each contributed.
“We’re overwhelmed by the amazing display of generosity that the Dodger wives have shown the young moms and children of St. Anne’s,” said Cathy Galarneau, Vice President of Development at St. Anne’s. “Their concern for those that we serve is extremely heartwarming, and very much appreciated. They’ve definitely put smiles on the faces of the young women whose lives they have touched through their incredible acts of kindness.”
Items donated included dishes, glasses, silverware, pots and pans, kitchen utensils, adult and baby bedding, bath and kitchen towels, hampers, diapers, baby wipes and other household goods. A Foundation for Kids, an organization that supports children’s agencies and youth organizations that serve abused and at risk children in Southern California, also donated high chairs, strollers, play sets, baby clothing, cosmetic bags and more.
Earlier this season, Dodger wives including Abbie Blake, Dejie Guerrier, Mari MacDougal, Tiffany Billingsley, Maggie Ethier and Kim Carroll took a tour of St. Anne’s, were impressed with the organization and wanted to get involved. The wives hosted a group of women and children from St. Anne’s at last Friday’s game.
The Dodger Wives also partnered with A Foundation for Kids in August to host a back-to-school event for approximately 150 children from the East Los Angeles Boys & Girls Club at Dodger Stadium. Maggie Ethier, Tiffany Billingsley, Tim Wallach and his wife Lori, Cindy Ellis and Ellen Kershaw hosted the event as each child received a backpack, lunch box, school supplies, a pair of sneakers and clothing items as well as lunch.
