Baseball Reliquary's new exhibition, "Patriotic Pitch: The Empire of Baseball," opened at the Pasadena Central Library, and will run through July 30, 2011.  Based on Robert Elias's book, "The Empire Strikes Out: How Baseball Sold U.S. Foreign Policy and Promoted the American Way Abroad," the exhibition provides a provocative and eye-opening look at the historical relationship between baseball and patriotism, nationalism, militarism, and diplomacy.
