Tomorrow is "Viva Los Dodgers"
LOS ANGELES – “Viva Los Dodgers Days” presented by State Farm, Time Warner Cable and Chevrolet returns for a second season and takes place each Sunday of every homestand starting tomorrow at 3 p.m. prior to the 5 p.m. game against San Francisco. Univision is the official media partner for this year’s “Viva Los Dodgers Days.” The Dodgers’ Spanish-language broadcast is now on Univision’s KNTQ 1020AM and is led by Hall of Famer Jaime Jarrín with Pepe Yñiguez and the legendary Fernando Valenzuela who will make an appearance tomorrow at 4 p.m.
The season-long initiative now in its second year celebrates the legacy of Latin American Dodger players past and present at a family-friendly pregame festival held in lot 6 two hours prior to each Sunday’s game.
“Viva Los Dodgers Days” will include live music, giveaways and family-friendly activities. Tomorrow’s live musical act is La Tradición del Norte, a Norteño group from Baja California. Former Dodger Bobby Castillo will sign autographs in the Dodger Autograph tent and Miller will have a beer garden on site.
Tomorrow’s event will also include the MLB2K11 RV tour that includes hitting and pitching cages and fans can also play 2K’s newest game. In addition to State Farm, Time Warner Cable and Chevrolet, other Dodger partners that will be on site with giveaways and promotions include Universal Home Entertainment promoting the DVD release of Little Fockers, State Farm, Jack Daniel’s, Bally Total Fitness, Wonderful Pistachios, Automobile Club of Southern California and Sparkletts.
As part of the Dodgers’ new partnership with Univision Radio, hosts of the new TV show “LAnzate” on Telefutura 46 Stephanie Bradford and Carlos Alvarez, who is also a DJ at Univision’s KLVE 107.5 FM, will throw out a first pitch. Univision’s KTNQ 1020AM, the new home of the Dodgers’ Spanish-language radio broadcast, will broadcast all 162 regular season games this year.
“Viva Los Dodgers Days” are part of the Dodgers’ promotional schedule and will take place two hours prior to the game times listed below on the following Sundays:
* April 17 vs. STL, 1:10 p.m.
* May 1 vs. SD, 1:10 p.m.
* May 15 vs. AZ, 1:10 p.m.
* May 29 vs. FLA, 1:10 p.m.
* June 19 vs. HOU, 1:10 p.m.
* June 26 vs. LAA, 1:10 p.m.
* July 10 vs. SD, 1:10 p.m.
* July 24 vs. WAS, 1:10 p.m.
* July 31 vs. AZ, 1:10 p.m.
* August 14 vs. HOU, 1:10 p.m.
* August 28 vs. COL, 1:10 p.m.
The Dodgers’ season-long initiative celebrating Latino culture in Los Angeles culminates with La Gran Fiesta - Viva Los Dodgers on Saturday, September 17.
