Yeah. Hard to believe but I'm going to be a Dad. Not saying that in a negative way but I didn't think this day would come. We've known since September. The due date is early June. I thought it would be a good time to share it with you since the Dodgers are at Wrigley Field and we were going to go to this series. I got excited when the Dodgers released the 2011 schedule last September. It was the perfect time since I knew my wife has spring break from work right now. I was planning on all the things to do in Chicago besides going to the ballgame. Kinda like I did last year at New York/Boston. But life threw us a curveball and now we are waiting for our first child.
We were told it was a baby girl. I bought this shirt last February in Camelback Ranch. Pink Dodgers tee. It was the first item that I bought for her.
Months have gone by and we didn't buy anything for our baby. Until a few weeks ago we started buying clothes. And I mean a lot of clothes. But guess what? The latest ultrasound last Friday says it's a boy. So basically we are confused at this moment. We went through a bunch of months thinking it's a girl and now they say it's a boy. Imagine that. I honestly do not mind as long as the baby is healthy. And I won't believe the sex of the baby until he or she is born. :)
I know a couple of people that are in Chicago now for the series. I hope you are all having fun! Well I know today was a bad day. That bullpen just blew it.
My day will come when I get to visit Wrigley Field. Maybe in a couple of years with my wife and baby. :)
Thanks for reading.

Congrats to your wife and you!
I have two boys and there was nothing like taking them to their first Dodger game.
The first outing we took my oldest son on was the LA City baseball championships @ Dodger Stadium in 2003. He made it to his first Dodger game shortly after that.
0 - 3 years are the best, especially since they get into games free!
Once again, congrats and good luck!
@ wdevil - Thanks! Should be fun taking your own kid to the game.
Congrats! Being a dad is awesome!!!
Congrats!!
Congrats!!!
Roberto,
Long time reader, but decided this would be a good time to make my first post. Just want to say congratulations on the big news. I have 5 kids of my own and I'll tell ya, there's nothing quite like taking in a game, but at the same time teaching and explaining why it's so great to a very curious and open mind of a child.
Just want to share also, because I've always thought this was cool, but my dad and I have always had luck with birth years. Both my dad and I were born in Championship years ('55 and '81), and with the exception of one of my children, all of mine were born in playoff years (2004, 2005, 2006, 2008 & 2009).
My wife and I are calling it quits at 5, so here's hoping our luck passes on to you and your wife :)
Here's to the 2011 Dodgers, and to Baby Baly.
@ Mike - Thanks! @ Heather - Thank you! @ horseman04 - Thanks! @ Bill - Wow, interesting story. Let's see if I have the same luck! :) Thanks Bill.
Congrats! Keep putting up great posts about our favorite team :)
IT'S A BOY!! you have to yell it, like my friend did when he thought he was having a girl. Congratulations your life will never be the same, for the better.
Just started reading your blog but a big congratulations to you and your wife!
Hey Roberto, been reading your blog for a long time but decided to post a comment here. Congratulations! My wife and I had our first baby in May 09 (the Dodgers first and last time in 1st place that season, they beat the Tigers that night haha), a beautiful baby girl and it is THE best thing that's ever happened to us. Whether a boy or a girl, just enjoy it, in good time and hard times. She and I wore matching Kemp shirts for opening day this year and I cant wait to take her to her first game.
