Matt Kemp's Poster has been replaced

I'm upset. This poster has been replaced. I kinda figured something was wrong when I asked Dodgers team photographer Jon SooHoo a couple of questions about it. {linked here}

He didn't seem to happy about the poster and it gave me the impression Matt Kemp was uncomfortable with it.

This is the new poster. It will be given out this Friday at Dodger Stadium. First 30,000 fans. It has nothing to do with an 80's theme. Which is weird because this Friday is 80's night. That's the reason they went with a Michael Jackson tribute shot.

I did asked a couple of people in the Dodgers organization what's going to happen to the original poster and they told me the change was made before production. I didn't get a reason why the change was made.

He can swing all he wants - I want him actually to start HITTING the ball when he swings at it.

Not very 80s, is it?

Another weird move in the increasingly bizarre story that is the Dodgers in 2010.

@ Dusty - True.

@ Josh - Nothing to do with the 80's. I'm guessing Kemp didn't give the final approval. Just from what SooHoo said, it looks like they were uncomfortable with it.

I taking a wild guess and saying I think it's a respect factor for kemp. I know he's a big MJ fan and maybe he don't wanna disrespect in anyway for posing as the king of pop. I can respect that.

I'm actually glad they changed the poster. I thought the MJ one didn't look that great.

i dont think it was appropriate it all, i mean we already have a Gary Glitter song for the the homerun song, which is weird enough and now bringing MJ into it? ... not acceptable for kids all around, they shouldve made a ghost busters theme!!! that wouldve been cool :O

I'm guessing since Chris Brown did an MJ tribute two weeks ago at the BET awards, that Kemp didn't want to do one also and appear like he was trying to one-up Rhianna's former flame.

You know, Rihanna doesn't influence everything he does.
