Vin Scully Bobblehead

Let's start from the beginning.

I'm a curious guy. I needed to know why this Vin Scully Bobblehead exists. The Dodgers have told me they have no idea where that Bobblehead came from. They have also confirm to me that a Vin Scully Bobblehead will not be released. Scully doesn't want that attention. He wishes not to have one.

So I decided to e-mail P2PROMO again. This is the company that has the Scully Bobblehead on their website. {linked here} It's also the company that has been making the Dodger bobbleheads for the last couple of years.

Questions: Why did the company manufactured a Scully Bobblehead? Will we ever see a Scully Bobblehead giveaway at Dodger Stadium?

Michael Silber of P2PROMO was nice enough to answer my questions:

Dodgers PR is correct, Vin Scully does not wish to be the center of attention and believes that the ballplayers are for promotion, so no Scully bobbleheads. The one we made was for Mrs. Scully to give away to friends and family at a family event.

It's sad news for us the fans but you have to respect his decision. He wishes to not have one. But how cool for Mrs. Scully to order "Vin Scully Bobbleheads" for a family event? That's awesome. Just imagine going to their family event and receiving a Scully Bobblehead!

Maybe one day....

It would've been sweet for a Scully bobblehead.

Ah, thanks for this news! Wish we could have one. I have a feeling that after he passes on we'll be having these available. I love Vin.

I would hope that after he passes, that the Dodgers would continue to respect his wishes and NOT have a Vin bobblehead promotion.

I would kill for a Vin Scully bobblehead.

I have a Chick Hearn bobblehead. Those were given away three months before Chicky passed away.
