Piazza Wants to Go as a Met

Shocking news coming out of The NY Times this morning. If the Hall of Fame calls, Mike Piazza wants to go in as a New York Met. {linked here}

No Kidding?

“The bulk of my career was with the Mets,” he said, “and after going through the trade, then the drama of 9/11. I’ll never forget my Dodger days. But my time with the Mets is what I’ll remember most about my career.”

Who can blame him? The way the Dodgers treated him, I wouldn't blame Piazza if he never sets a foot inside Dodger Stadium.

I will always remember the day he got traded. I was mad, sad, shocked. Just didn't know how to feel.

I will never forget 1997 - .362 40 HR 124 RBI's

Sucks. But you're right Roberto. Not a surprise. Damn Fox!

McCourt better not do this to Andre Ethier or Matt Kemp.

Piazza is the greatest hitting catcher in the history of this game. I cried. I was 11 years old. I cried for weeks. Didn't understand the biz side. Fox were bad owners. McCourt is going that route. They trade someone big like Matt Kemp, I'M DONE WITH THIS TEAM! NO JOKE.

I dont think he has ever set foot in the Stadium after his playing days were done. He didnt even come for any of the 50th Anniversary celebrations back in 2008. Heck even Raul Mondesi came back. I know that Piazza is upset at how he was treated his last days in LA, but honestly when does he realize that it was FOX that shipped him out? Fred Claire wasnt even the one that made the deal!! No one from those days is still around anymore. These arent the FOX Dodgers.
Cmon, Mike..let bygones be bygones and come "HOME"!!!

he spent 8 years in NY... why wouldnt he go as a MET? He was NL champ with the METs, played in a WOrld Series with the METS... I was a big PIAZZA Fan when I lived in LA... I went to the game the day he was announced he was traded. But he made more history with the METs in my opinion.
