I'm serious. Call Steve Sax at (916) 797-6640 He's into investments and helps others with their financial decisions. He prefers that you call him Stephen from now on.My phone conversation with the 1982 Rookie of the Year:
Me: Hey Steve!
Sax: It's Stephen
Me: I'm a big fan. I've met you before but...
Sax: Do you need financial help? 401K Questions? Retiring?
Me: Retiring? My life has just begun
Sax: What do you need young man?
Me: Like I said, I've met you before but I wasn't able to get a couple of items signed by you. I have some 1988 World Series items and was wondering if I can stop by your bank and...
Sax hangs up.
Oh well. Hey, did you know that Sax has a extensive knowledge of Civil War history? His bio is interesting. {linked here}
Steve Sax is one of the hottest motivational speakers on the scene today. He delivers stunning speeches that links the audience with solid take aways, including leadership, personal development, and teambuilding skills. His passion resonates from core beliefs that started in childhood from a dynamic relationship with his parents and were fulfilled through his realization of capturing his dream of playing major league baseball. Steve is also able to draw analogies from his extensive knowledge of Civil War History and his work over the past decade in the world of finance.
This is like the bio that Elaine writes for Peterman. Hottest speakers?

Sax was one of heroes as a kid. Great memories. To bad he had problems throwing to first :)
@ thegreatpiazza - I told you.
@ bluefanforever33 - A little bit :)
@ Paper Boy - It's all mental :)
Sax calling the Dodgers now to keep you away from the Stadium
I'm good, I'm good.
Rob is protected by a secret society.
Stop stalking Steve Sax
lol you need to create a picture of Sax as a Civil War General :)
Nice, I can't believe you actually called Sax! He's a childhood hero, still collect his baseball cars, I'm close to owning every single one ever made. You know, he's one of Lasorda's favorites. Uncle Tommy admired his Pete Rose style hustle. Sax went to the playoffs last year, and goes to Dodger games all the time. He did root for the giants as a kid, but obviously bleeds Dodger Blue since retirement.
Whoops, baseball cards, not cars.
LOL this is epic!
i love it!
Only on here
I would have never answered the phone like that...
...right, Roberto?
@ renstrom - Every Sax Baseball card? Nice, how many cards?
@ Eric - Thanks :)
@ Steve - You're much nicer. You don't call me Ronaldo anymore :)
Let's get together and drive up there to meet him. I'm sure he won't mind.
Nop. This can happen:

Eight now I'm close to 500, and just a few more 1/1 autos and game used to go!
Are you serious? Wow. Send me some pictures :)
I'll be posting about them on my blog, when I finally get it going. Almost there Roberto, probably be ready late May!
I need retirement help. But I don't know if I could actually call him Stephen! ;)
@ renstrom - Keep me updated :)
@ Michelle - Call him little Steven :)
I know Stephen well and for the record, many of his family and friends have always called him Stephen, that is not new. Also, it should be noted that after his throwing problem he went on to lead all AL second basemen in fielding percentage and double plays in 1989 and was an allstar multiple times after his throwing problem subsided. He is a real role model because he proved if you have great mental strength, you can work through your problems. He is actually a great guy and to the blogger who mentioned he was his hero.. he still should be.
