The Boilers

Can someone inform me about this group? The Boilers. All I know is that I saw them last Saturday at Camelback Ranch. I'm guessing it was around 25 guys. Looks like they read my blog. I didn't catch their names but a couple of them recognized me and said they were big fans of the blog.

During the 7th inning last Saturday, I got this on video. The Boilers group around Camelback Ranch.

E-mail from Alberto:

I was at the game also (last Saturday) with my boiler buddies. We did the walk in the seventh inning. Do you know anybody that took the videos of us? Thanks, like your blog.

It's your lucky day Alberto. I shot this video. Check it out!

The Boilers are a group of friends that grew up together since elementary school in Los Angeles, CA. You may see them at a lot of sporting events. They are true fans.

Roberto! your the man!!! Love the Video of my boys and I. Let me tell you a little about the Boilers. Alot of us know each other since elementary school and have seen each other grow and as we grew so did our belly's. some larger than others. With that, we would say to each other, "you got a Boiler around the waist". So we called our bellys the boiler. Now we're just a bunch of boiler boys that hang out, watch the Dodgers, and get bigger by the year. In more ways than one. I want you to know that our biggest and most important motto is to respect others. Most people see a bunch of latinos in a group and think we're a gang. But we prove otherwise. Cussing, fighting, and disrespect is not what we do. Most of the guys are working profesionals that serve the community. Thank you Roberto for your interest in our group. A t-shirt is in store for you.

Roberto,
Thank you for blogging about the Boilers. As was mentioned earlier, the Boilers have been attending Spring Training games for over ten years! Some Boilers made a few trips to Vero Beach as well. The coolest part of being a Boiler during spring training is the annual walk through at Giants Stadium in Scottsdale. People have booed us, thrown popcorn, ice, aluminum cans, peanuts and several obscenities our way! The Boilers have never returned even a middle finger to the Giant fans! That is because we are classy Dodger fans, not the stereotypical latino Dodger fans that give us all a bad name. The ushers at Scottsdale stadium, all retired people, welcome us back every year. They know that we are not there to cause trouble, just to stir the pot a little bit. I guess they like the Dodgers vs. Giants rivalry just as much as we do! Thanks for recognizing the Boilers. We now have an Arizona Chapter and a New Mexico Chapter is in the works. Wouldn't it be something if this whole Boilers thing went national? Go Dodger Blue!

@ Dan The Man -

Thanks! I met a couple of you. They looked like good people. One of you had a "Yeager, Lopes, Sax etc" shirt. We talked for a while after the game..

Once upon in 1992, Paul and Luis worked at Park Avenue and became good friends as other friends became introduced it lead to some crazy times. As time passed the friendship between a group of young men who grew up in the same area but were divided by rival schools from Bell and H.P. have bonded to become stronger. We have enjoy each others humor and accomplishments that has lead to some great times and laughter. Some people wonder how we continue to have this wonderful friendship it’s because we keep it real and the love of DODGER BASEBALL.

Roberto..thanks for the video. As my boiler brothers stated earlier the only physical contact that was happening between us and the other spectators were high fives. I have known a good majority of these guys all my life and wouldn't change it for the world. Our admiration and respect for each other grows every year along with the Boiler...Be on the look out for many more excursions in the future. Through the Boilers we have been introduced to people all over and it continues to be a blast...Once you are considered a Boiler ..You are a Boiler for life...
