It's to good to know that MLB is helping Haiti after they suffered a major earthquake.MLB contributes $ 1 million towards relief effort {linked here}
The New York Yankees give $ 500,000 {linked here}
David Ortiz will be donating food and medical supplies {linked here}
Interesting stuff related to Haiti and Baseball:
Haitians are Juan Pierre fans even though he's not from Haiti. It's all about the last name. A old article but nice. {linked here}
Juan Pierre is absolutely No. 1 in the Haitian community, and there is no No. 2," says Jean Marc Louissant, a financial aid administrator from Coral Springs, who like many fans, refers to Pierre as "JP." "There's a lot of pride there, and it's just based on hope alone.

What killed the great Roberto Clemente ? It was during a time like this. Clemente wanted to help Nicaragua after their country was devasted by a earthquake. {linked here}
Clemente died, in the broadest sense, because of the earthquake—he was on a plane from Puerto Rico carrying relief supplies he’d collected when it crashed. He wasn’t a relief worker. The most obvious way for him to help was by giving money and going on the radio and organizing and encouraging others—all of which he had been doing.
How can you help ! (if you haven't) The easiest way is to donate through your cell phone. You can send a $ 10 donation to Haiti by texting "Haiti" 90999 {linked here}
There is a good chance you have spent $ 10 before on crap and thought "Why did I get this ?" So I'm sure $ 10 is not going to hurt you. Do it !
One last note:
The Dodgers have one prospect from Haiti. Wilner Charles played in the Dominican Summer League the last two seasons. Let's hope he's o.k. More on other prospects... {linked here}
