2010 Serie del Caribe @ Isla de Margarita

The Caribbean Series is set. The Champion from Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Dominica Republic and Mexico will face off in a playoff style series. The six-day Caribbean Series begins Tuesday on the Venezuelan island of Margarita.

I have to root for my Mom's hometown team. Naranjeros de Hermosillo. They won the Championship tonight to represent Mexico in the "Serie del Caribe" The Roster has former players in the big leagues, Vinny Castilla and Karim Garcia.

If you ever have an oppurtunity to see a game outside of MLB, do it. It's fun. I've seen a couple of games in Mexicali and Hermosillo. It's a crazy atmosphere. The above picture is a game that I saw in Hermosillo a couple of years.

A couple of links to check out about the Serie del Caribe

I always say the same thing: caribbean winter baseball rocks. To watch some Serie del Caribe games would be a nice preparation for spring training and MLB regular season. Besides, you get to see different strategies from the MLB and MiLB.

Looking good on that pic, Roberto.
