Happy Thanksgiving
I hope everyone has a Happy Thankgiving and is doing better than Frank McCourt. Remember, he's low on cash. Poor guy. L.A. Times is reporting "McCourt said his checking account had fallen as low as $167,000 in recent weeks"I don't know if I feel worst for McCourt or certain Dodger fans that kept telling me "We're going to do big things this off-season!" and I kept blogging that we're not doing anything. We will get a 2nd Basemen and a couple of Reliable Starting Pitchers. That's it. Stop dreaming.
That being said, we're still going to be a great team next year. Let's just hope Chad Billingsley wakes up and becomes a true Ace.
Of course, I could be wrong and we end up getting Roy Halladay this weekend. I just don't see it. The McCourt's are worried about other things. Dodgers GM Ned Colletti will fill up holes with decent players. Sad but that's how I see it.
On to better things...
Those Turkey's belong to Matt Kemp. He posted a picture via Twitter. I didn't get a invite to his house so I guess I'm visiting my Mother in Law today. I'm sure I'll gain five pounds today since there will be plenty of food in the table. It's a Nicaraguan/Mexican Thanksgiving. Just imagine that. It's not a traditional Thanksgiving. But that's how we roll :)
Enjoy your day!

Roberto,
By the way, this is the nicest e-mail that I have received when someone has a complaint! Thanks Mark.
Yeah, It's not really a big problem but I know what he means. If I do scroll down and the cursor is by the photo, a pop up will preview the picture. That's not my intention. It's suppose to pop up a preview of any link that you might see. I'll see what I can do with this problem.
Send me a e-mail with any other problems or ideas that you have. Is there something that you dislike? Is there something you love? Let me know. I really appreciate the feedback. Thanks,
I'd rather you e-mail me then leave me a comment for this topic.

No Holiday Party
I found out last week that the Dodgers are not holding a Holiday Party like they did last year. I was saddened to hear the news since I had a blast last year. I was told that the main reason they did one last year was to celebrate the upcoming 50th anniversary of the team being in L.A.They did add that they are already planning on a couple of events for 2010.
Read my experience from last year's event here.

I heart Tim Lincecum
That was a DM that I received on Twitter about an hour ago. No, I don't "heart" Tim Lincecum. Dodger fans are going bananas because Lincecum won the Cy Young today. He deserved it! Why so much hate? Just because he plays for the Giants? Look at the stats. I'm the biggest Dodger fan you can find, but let's be real...-
I have slightly over 300 followers on Twitter. It's not a big group but it's always fun interacting with other Dodger fans. Since the playoffs ended, most of them seem to think the Dodgers are going to do big things this Winter. They are going to sign John Lackey (left pix) or a big Bat. I keep reminding them that the Dodgers are not going to do much this Off-Season. They will look for a 2nd Basemen and try to stock up the Pitching Staff with trades or sign a couple of Free-Agents. That's it. They are not going to sign a Huge Type Free-Agent. Don't blame me. I'm only speaking the truth.
-
It seems that during this difficult time for the Dodgers, Frank McCourt won't speak to much to the media. Owners meetings were held in Chicago this week. The Dodgers sent Team President Dennis Mannion.
Arte Moreno, the owner of the Angels, spoke freely about his team and the future. I'm jealous.
I'm not saying the Angels are going to do a lot this Off-Season but it's great that the fans can have a peak at the future.
-
Another note, I would be surprised if the Dodgers land Roy Halladay. He's going to be a Free Agent after 2010. Are you trading someone like Chad Billingsley just to have Halladay for one year? Or you're signing him to a long term deal now?
If you're going to make a trade for Halladay, then you need to sign him long term the day he lands in L.A.
It will be a terrible mistake if you trade away Billingsley and other players just to have Halladay for a short time.
-
Since the McCourt's announced their pending Divorce, I was prepare for the worst. I'm mentally prepared that the Dodgers are not going to get the players that I want them to get.

Yu Darvish and his Nike Shoes
I remember reading about Yu Darvish a couple of years ago. Many writers were saying that he's going to be one of the best Pitchers of Japan in the coming years. Well Darvish of Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters won MVP of Japan's Pacific League. I saw Yu pitch at Dodger Stadium this past March for Team Japan in the World Baseball Classic and became a fan of Darvish. Darvish happens to be one of the most popular players in Japan and one of the top Pitchers. Can't he just retire and sign with a MLB team? (Just like Hideo Nomo) See ya in 10 years Yu!
Want another reason to like Darvish? Check out his shoe:
Scioscia/Tracy win Manager of the Year Awards
I want to congratulate Mike Scioscia on winning American League Manager of the Year for the Anaheim Angels. Plus it gives me a good reason to post this Baseball Card. What a shame that he's down in the O.C.
In related news, Former Dodger Manager, Jim Tracy wins it for the Colorado Rockies.
Just odd that two people that had ties with the Dodgers organization won the award.
Bud Selig Talks
"I can't hear ya!"Bud Selig talked about many subjects. Post-Season Schedule, Frank & Jamie McCourt, and Salary Cap.
"Look, the Dodgers are in good hands," Selig said. "There's no reason to get into any debate about what's going to happen. The Dodgers are going to be in L.A. for as long as any of us are alive and many generations after."

Baseball Links that caught my attention...
The City of Darlington (South Carolina) plans to honor Orlando Hudson. City councilwants to put up a sign in Hudson's honor that says, "Welcome to Darlington, Home of Orlando Hudson"
The Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies will share a new Spring Training Park on 2011.
D-backs team president and CEO Derrick Hall (A former Dodgers employee) told the media that it will be the next Dodgertown. I think it's a good move. Tucson is too far.
"Dodgertown was an extremely unique experience where fans would literally walk side-by-side, shoulder-to-shoulder with the fans," Hall said. "Feel the field, a lot of photographs, a lot of autographs, that's what we want to recreate here. That's what's missing in baseball today. It's going to be as fan-friendly an experience as you will find in the game. Great access to players, lot of interactivity, very up close to the action."
Baltimore Orioles might to travel to Cuba again to play a Spring Training Game next March.
Ben Reiter of Sports Illustrated ranks the top 50 Free Agents. I don't see the Dodgers signing a big time pitcher like John Lackey. I don't see them making much moves to be honest. I hope I'm wrong. If anything, it will be through trades and only if it comes cheap. That's how I see it...

Autographs: Davey Lopes

As I mentioned before, the great Dodgers Infield were going to be signing autographs together at a Card Shop in Van Nuys. Steve Garvey, Davey Lopes, Bill Russell and Ron Cey were present. I only needed Lopes to sign my Dodger Seat. The other three have already signed it. Lopes was scheduled to sign at 12pm. I arrived late, which meant I was at the end of the line. The good thing is that the line actually moved quickly.
Garvey and Cey had already signed. I did see Garvey in the Parking Lot. Cey was done with his session when I arrived. When I reached to Lopes, Russell was next to him. Russell was asked if the Dodgers were going to be any good next season, he replied "They need Pitching" I told Russell he already signed my seat in another event. Didn't want him to think I'm ignoring him or didn't want his autograph.
Gave the seat to Lopes and he signed it nicely. I asked Lopes for a picture and he stood up. A nice lady took the time to take a quick picture for me. Thank you!
It's weird knowing that he was with the Dodgers for so many years and now he's a coach with the Philadelphia Phillies.
Overall, it was a good event. Very organized. No complaints from me.
Peace!

All-Star Dreams!
I wish Dodger Stadium would host one of these All-Star games soon...The City of Anaheim will have a Float for the Rose Parade in Pasadena. The float will honor the 2010 All-Star Game.
Fun Facts about the Game:
Charlie Manuel will manage the National League and Joe Girardi will manage the American League since they went to the World Series.
I'm suggesting we vote really early next year. Dodgers need to be well represented in Anaheim! The favorites would be Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier. Who knows with the Pitching. Maybe Clayton Kershaw and Chad Billingsley (remember him) get off to fast starts!
Can you tell I like All-Star Games?
Kemp & Ethier: Silver Sluggers
This is good news! Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier each receive a Silver Slugger. The Silver Bat. Congratulations guys.Joe Torre Safe At Home

DODGERS ANNOUNCE 2010 SPRING TRAINING SCHEDULE
Season Tickets are on sale now at dodgers.com/spring
LOS ANGELES – The 2009 National League West Division Champion Los Angeles and begin their 2010 Cactus League schedule on Friday, March 5 playing against the Chicago White Sox at Camelback Ranch-Glendale, the teams’ Spring Training ballpark inaugurated last year in Glendale, AZ.
The Dodgers are currently scheduled to play 27 Spring Training games in 2010, including 15 at Camelback Ranch-Glendale. Los Angeles will play each of its NL West opponents – Arizona, Colorado, San Diego, and San Francisco – this spring. Games will also include the spring opener versus the White Sox on March 5, and two additional games on March 6 and March 17 at Camelback Ranch-Glendale. The Dodgers will play against the Chicago Cubs in Mesa on March 7 and at Camelback Ranch-Glendale on March 18. The Dodgers will play Freeway Series rival Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on March 15 in Tempe, March 22 at Camelback Ranch-Glendale, April 2 in Anaheim, and April 3 at Dodger Stadium.
There are four different weekends in which home games will be played in the Cactus League in 2010 and in each of the four weekends, the Dodgers will play at least two games at The Ballpark at Camelback Ranch, providing ample opportunity for fans to make a trip to the desert. Last season, countless fans made the five-hour drive or one-hour flight to Glendale for the team's first Spring Training campaign outside of Florida in more than half a century.
Season tickets and Spring Training information are both available now at www.dodgers.com/spring or by calling (623) 302-5000. Mini-plans are on currently sale with three-game plans starting at just $10 per game.
Game dates, opponents and game times all are subject to change. A Spring Training broadcast schedule and on-sale date for individual game tickets to Dodgers and White Sox Cactus League games in Glendale will be announced this winter.
