The case of McCourt vs McCourt in L.A. County Civil Building will be addressed this morning. From NBC 4:
She will try to convince a court commissioner that she should be reinstated as chief executive officer of the Los Angeles Dodgers, despite her firing by estranged husband Frank McCourt.
So, can a court commissioner even do that?
"Today she's saying, 'You had no right to fire me,'" said NBCLA legal analyst Royal Oakes. "The judge might say, 'You may sue for a jillion dollars but I can't put you back into the executive seat.'
"She's kind of taking a flyer on this. She's hoping she'll get a favorable ruling here. What she's saying is, 'Pay me now or pay me later.'"
Both McCourts filed divorce petitions in Los Angeles Superior Court last week citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split. That set the stage for what could become one of the most closely scrutinized marital splits in recent memory.
There will be no cameras or cell phones inside the court. NBC Reporter Conan Nolan is at the Court and will be tweeting afterwards. Follow him by clicking here.
