That was a DM that I received on Twitter about an hour ago. No, I don't "heart" Tim Lincecum. Dodger fans are going bananas because Lincecum won the Cy Young today. He deserved it! Why so much hate? Just because he plays for the Giants? Look at the stats. I'm the biggest Dodger fan you can find, but let's be real...-
I have slightly over 300 followers on Twitter. It's not a big group but it's always fun interacting with other Dodger fans. Since the playoffs ended, most of them seem to think the Dodgers are going to do big things this Winter. They are going to sign John Lackey (left pix) or a big Bat. I keep reminding them that the Dodgers are not going to do much this Off-Season. They will look for a 2nd Basemen and try to stock up the Pitching Staff with trades or sign a couple of Free-Agents. That's it. They are not going to sign a Huge Type Free-Agent. Don't blame me. I'm only speaking the truth.

It seems that during this difficult time for the Dodgers, Frank McCourt won't speak to much to the media. Owners meetings were held in Chicago this week. The Dodgers sent Team President Dennis Mannion.
Arte Moreno, the owner of the Angels, spoke freely about his team and the future. I'm jealous.
I'm not saying the Angels are going to do a lot this Off-Season but it's great that the fans can have a peak at the future.

Another note, I would be surprised if the Dodgers land Roy Halladay. He's going to be a Free Agent after 2010. Are you trading someone like Chad Billingsley just to have Halladay for one year? Or you're signing him to a long term deal now?
If you're going to make a trade for Halladay, then you need to sign him long term the day he lands in L.A.
It will be a terrible mistake if you trade away Billingsley and other players just to have Halladay for a short time.

Since the McCourt's announced their pending Divorce, I was prepare for the worst. I'm mentally prepared that the Dodgers are not going to get the players that I want them to get.

they are not going to sign lackey they already posted it on the website. But im pretty sure they are going sign at least 2 starting pitching probaly type B free agents like maybe Rich Harden, Padilla, people like that nobody big. A second baseman would be nice they're is like Palanco, Derosa, Felipe Lopez there are so many so im sure we will be fine even if we dont sign any big free agents.
That's my point. They are not signing any Type A Free Agents. Thanks for the comments Jesus.
I love Lincecum, I could care less he's a Giant. I just hope he pitches poorly against us.
Trading away Billingsley is a bad idea period. I wouldn't trade him straight up for Halladay, contract extension or no contract extension.
It is just wishful thinking, but the Dodgers are not going to get Halladay even if they empty the farm. Which is a real shame.
It would be nice for them to sign someone like Pudge as a backup, who is a type B I believe.
They are seriously one marquee pitcher from winning the pennant.
We wished we had Lincecum, because if we had him instead of Billingsley, the Dodgers would probably have been in the WS.
Even if Billingsley is a bust, you cannot trade him because he is pitching for chump change. The hope is that he fixes whatever mental issues he has and start mixing up pitches. How many times has he used a cut fastball this year? Mix it up. No wonder he got lit up in the second half.
Now, I think it is priority for the Dodgers to sign Wolf out of all of their FA pitchers. My hope is that a lot of teams will pass on him based on his basic statline and his age.
I think you are right. Until the divorce is finalized, the Dodgers are on the sidelines. The McCourts can't possibly be focused on running the organization while going through such an intense divorce.
Thanks for the comments. Really liked them.
I just the Dodgers can get a good pitcher and that Billingsley and Kershaw become better next year. Hey, maybe Kershaw can be the Ace.
