Ned Colletti and the Dodgers have agreed to a contract. The length of the contract is a big secret. But he will be here for many years.
Dodgers.com mentioned the following:
More importantly, Colletti resisted the temptation to trade away Matt Kemp, Andre Ethier, Clayton Kershaw, Jonathan Broxton, James Loney, Russell Martin and Chad Billingsley in recent years for quick fixes and kept intact the nucleus of a club that had the best record in the National League.
That was important for me. Not seeing the young kids get traded. I like those moves. I also liked the moves that he has done recently like getting most players cheap and not moving top prospects.
Only negative issues that I have was those big contracts he gave to Juan Pierre and Jason Schmidt. I don't blame him much for Andruw Jones. We needed a big bat at the time.
I also don't blame him for Manny Ramirez. Who knew he was going to get suspended?
He has done a solid job. I like the signing.

I can't give him credit for not trading away talented young players who you build teams around. That's common sense.
I agree completely. What you don't do is sometimes as important as what you do do. I liked the Pierre signing though. To this day Juan is providing a much needed spark whether it is with his bat, attitude or his legs.
