Autographs: Jonathan Broxton

Why so serious?

I'll have more on that later....

I showed up at Sam's Club in El Monte around 10:30 am. I went by myself since my Wife had school, so it was a little bit weird standing there alone in line. But luckily a friend came (You're going to lose your job Ken!)

Jonathan Broxton was scheduled to sign autographs at 11am. Or 12pm? I don't know. Two different employees told me different times. There was a Farmer John mobile car grilling hot dogs and giving them away for free. So fans were eating the hot dogs before Broxton comes in and eats them all :)

Broxton came in at 12pm. I was about 25 fans behind. I noticed he was signing multipe items so I gave him a photo and my Wife's jumbo ball.

Broxton is a low key kind of guy. Doesn't really smile or anything like that. Two years ago I met him (check out this pix) and he didn't say one word to me. Troy from West Virginia took note of this and posted my pix onto his video and sang "And why won't Broxton talk?" I don't know Troy! Check out the video if you haven't seen it (forward it to 1:30)

Check out the video that I recorded in which Broxton is having fun and greeting all the fans with great enthusiasm! By the way, I had to stop recording because I only had one camera with me. Another note, the battery was very low. I'm surprised it didn't quit on me. I'm mentioning this because I noticed the volume is a bit low and the clarity of the video is not that great. Not sure if that has to do with it. Make sure to put your volume at the max. (I told Broxton "Hello, hello, hello" since he didn't respond when I said "Hey John")

Video -

Do we look a like? Right before it was my turn I was about to take off my glasses and get ready to smile at the camera. Then it occurred to me since Broxton has his glasses on and is all serious, why not copy his facial expression? Click the pix.

How do I look? I think I came out a little bit mean :)

That's all. I won't be able to make the other appearances tomorrow but I hope everyone has fun.

Haha! Broxton is always serious. We always bother him by the bullpen and he will always ignore us.

Thanks for sharing.

I'm afraid the answer will be no. But, did you have to be a Sam's Club member to get an autograph?

Roberto Baly said...

@ Gabriel - No... I took my dad's card just in case since mine expired a while ago and I haven't renewed it. lol

But no, you didn't have to have a membership. The event was held outside.

one of the guys at the Cory Wade event told me about the Broxton one. I was so mad. Especially cuz the guy who told me it was members only even was so stuck-up about it and rude. Bet they weren't cool like Super-A where all the employees it seemed like were wearing Dodger gear. And not only did we get free hot dogs, but free coke too

We also got free coke or water...
