Little League / Subway Event

I met two great guys today. Fred Lynn and Dave Winfield. I wasn't even prepared for this event. A friend gave me a tip about this event this morning. So I decided to go and check it out to see if I can snag some autographs from Lynn and Winfield.

Subway had a event going on in Beverly Hills this afternoon. Apparently, today is National Opening Day for Little League Baseball. At the bottom, I provided two links if you want to read more about it.

I showed up around 1pm. I saw Lynn and Winfield. I wasn't able to bother them since they were busy with Subway employees. A Baseball game was going to start at 2:30pm. I wanted to get the autographs before the game and leave to avoid the traffic. I couldn't do it. I had to sit down and watch the whole game. Right after the game I noticed they were signing autographs for the kids and parents. I just came up to Lynn and gave him a ball.
Next up, Winfield. This was the second time I met him. A couple of years ago I met him at a book store. This time I gave him a H.O.F. Ball. Cool dude.
Check out this video that I shot before the game. Larry King interviews Lynn and Winfield at the park.

Ben Platt of MLB.com wrote a article.

LA Times also wrote about it.

Just a opinion....Next time, corporations like Subway should go out to other cities like East L.A., El Monte, Compton, etc, where they might appreciate more this kind of event. Especially the kids. Other than that, good times...

Peace!
