Hot Stove @ Bellagio

Welcome Mark ! I think it would sound better if I said "Welcome CC"

Hello everyone...it's crazy reading all these news and rumors that's going on in Las Vegas. The Dodgers have already made some moves and I'm glad we get Casey Blake back. I never thought he would come back. The other move was the signing of Mark Loretta. I like this move. He provides a great glove in most of the Infield positions and a good bat to have off the bench. With the signing of Loretta, it looks like the career of Nomar Garciaparra as a Dodger is over. Another Dodger that won't come back will be Greg Maddux. He retired from the game and had a Hall of Fame career. Funny quote from Chad Billingsley:

"I've talked to him a lot about what you throw certain hitters in certain situations, what he sees from the swings of hitters as far as what he thinks the hitter is looking for in certain counts," Chad Billingsley said. "If you can't learn from someone like Greg, you're not trying. He's been great to be around and listen to. I grew up watching him throw with Atlanta on TBS through the 1990s when I was young. I tell him that and he says it makes him feel old. He was drafted in 1984. I was born in 1984."

The Dodgers announced their 2009 Spring Training Schedule today. It was already announced a couple of weeks ago but they had to add/change a couple of games because the White Sox were able to get out of their deal in Tucson and will be able to join the Dodgers in sharing the complex.

I'm not sure what's going to happen to Manny Ramirez. His agent has already contacted the Dodgers and told them that Ramirez would like to play in L.A. Then CC was heard saying he wanted to be a Dodger. I don't want to get too excited. It's still early....
